About Us

Adelaide Radio Players Inc is a dynamic group of seniors who meet weekly in a friendly and supportive atmosphere to pursue our passionate interest and love of theatre.  Most of us love to perform in front of a microphone, some write scripts, some look after the sound desk and technical aspects of our shows.  We regularly rehearse the scripts for the current year so that we are continually improving our performances.  We write our own plays and sketches, use sound equipment and microphones and our plays include music and sound effects.  

Of course we always have time for a friendly chat over morning tea and get to know each other with many firm friendships made over the years.

Different members prepare and deliver workshops on a wide variety of topics such as characterisation; voice projection, diction and other vocal qualities; script writing; setting up, using and managing our audio equipment; sound effects and music; microphone technique; acting the character and comedy timing - so that we are continually trying to improve our skills and knowledge of radio theatre.  

While our art is primarily auditory, these images capture the spirit and dedication that goes into our meetings and every performance.
